Ponies at the New Forest golf club This pony and her foal are grazing on a grassy area at the edge of the golf course. This is, I believe, the seventh tee. The golf club has been in existence since 1888 when villagers were granted permission from the Commissioners of Woods and Forests to play golf on open heathland. The course has survived despite various major disruptions during wartime.
