When Ceausescu wanted to build a huge complex of buildings in the center of the city, his thugs bulldozed entire huge neighborhoods with essentially no warning, forcing the residents to abandon most of their belongings and move into “systematized” apartment complexes. Among the abandoned things were thousands of dogs. Now, 20 years later, stray dogs in Bucharest are the equivalent of pigeons or squirrels in Seattle. This pack was sure that I was going to feed them my camera.
