Charles Joseph Scrutton, pictured with his horse and dog, 1920 Charles Joseph Scrutton, 1838-1932, was the last surviving member of the Jardine Expedition, taking cattle from Rockhampton to Cape York. Scrutton was also associated with the first overlanders to take cattle to the Northern Territory. He held the pastoral lease at Bauhinia Downs in the early 1900s.
