Are Cats Nearsighted or Farsighted? Cat?s and human?s eyes are made up similarly. A cat?s pupils contract to bring in more or less light. Also, the eyes of a cat and human contain rods and cones. However, cats do not see like humans. These feline eyes are adept for hunting. Because of this, cats are essentially farsighted. This allows cats to watch from a distance. Plus cats? pupils can dilate much further to bring in more light. From a distance things are very clear. In fact, the cat may see more than you do. However, up close things will probably appear blurry.
