Gillie spent more than twelve hours outdoors Monday. It started normally enough when he went out as usual. Normally he shows up to come in about an hour or two later. However, the logging crew showed up and started work at 7. Gillie doesn't like noisy machines so he stayed away. Our neighbor is doing some tree clearing and the clearing crew separates the good firewood and the junk wood, which is chipped and sent to a facility nearby that burns wood for power. We went around looking in the woods during the day, but it was too noisy and Gillie was nowhere to be seen. The clearing crew left about 4 so we started to look more earnestly after that. He didn't respond to the car horn, calls, whistles, our normal calling noises. Finally about 6:30 Gillie was spotted sleeping under a tree about 300 ft from home. He'll be an indoor cat for a while now. Today he's zonked out so he doesn't mind, but he'll still be indoors tomorrow.
