It's wet today so Gillie takes refuge in the junk greenhouse. (That's the old greenhouse that's too small to grow things in so it gets used as the place where everything that doesn't have a place gets stored [or perhaps the word should be "dumped"]). Gillie is sitting on an old block of wood that is holding the door open so it doesn't get too hot in there (A closed greenhouse in the sun can get hot enough to melt the plastic flats).
