We have given up taking Gillie to the farm. We just don't have time to chase him at the end of the day. We have been letting him out at home and he seems to stick around. Sometimes (hot or rainy days) he will come in on his own. Other times we have to chase him. But at least we're doing it at home and not somewhere else. When we get him in, he catches up on his much-needed rest.
